Spring Conference Training: Introduction to Play Therapy
We will cover our Introductory Topics of AutPlay, Therapeutic Journaling, Nature Play, and Expressive Arts in Play. Each of the training courses will discuss the Therapeutic Powers of Play to support our focus on the importance of play and its theoretical connection to practice. Learning Objectives: 1) Participants will be able to identify theories of play therapy interventions -both directive and child centered interventions. 2) Participants will identify the use of play therapy interventions for individual and group practice. 3) Participants will be able to describe the Therapeutic Powers of Play as presented in 1993 by Dr. Charles Schaefer.

Participants will learn more about the Memphis Area Association of Play Therapy (MAAPT), the Tennessee Association of Play Therapy (TNAPT), Behavior Services of the Mid-South LLC (BSMS), and the new University of Memphis Play Therapy Training, Research and Treatment Center. There will be 6.0 hours of APT approved CONTACT CEUs for this event. You must be present the entire 6.0 to get the APT approved CEUs. The cost for the training is $115.00.
