Drs. Elswick and Washington are certified CBITS trainers, and are providing a 1-day training on the evidence-based intervention for group work in schools/ community known as CBITS. In this training, participants will learn specific strategies to promote the social and emotional development of children and youth; gain knowledge about group-based interventions for serving children and youth who have experienced adverse events or trauma; and will learn skills aimed at enhancing the quality of the school, home, and community settings for all youth and children. The Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) program is a school-based, group and individual intervention.
This is an INVITATION only opportunity- so please do not share with others at this time. There are only 15 seats available for the training.
For accepted participants, the cost of the training is ($185.00 per participant). This cost includes your one day training and all the materials needed to implement the intervention in your schools. Participants will be responsible for their own lunch and snacks during the event, and a lunch break is embedded into the training time. This is typically a two day training, but to reduce cost to the community and schools, we are offering a one day training option. As part of the one day training agreement, Participants MUST complete the online CBITS training modules prior to the event . YOU MUST SHOW PROOF OF THE ONLINE CBITS MODULE COMPLETION AT REGISTRATION (you should have 2 certificates of completion to bring). To access the online training module, go to https://cbitsprogram.org/. The online training and registration is free of charge. You simply register as a new user and utilize your email address and password you create. You will then have access to the manual and the online materials and certificate of completion for proof.
