The Thraputic Power of Play

This is a training perfect for new clinicians and for purposes of networking in the community!!!

Participants will learn about different play activities used by clinicians in their practices across the city, and offer an opportunity for clinician networking. There will be 1.5 hours of APT approved CEUs for this event. We will cover our "Favorite Things in Play Therapy" where we will multiple clinicians from the play therapy community bring in some of their favorite toys, books, games, activities or techniques they use in play therapy for a fun and interactive discussion. We will also incorporate and review the Therapeutic Powers of Play to review and focus on the importance of play and its theoretical connection to practice and client outcomes.

Participants will receive 1.5 APT approved contact hours for this event, in addition to networking, ideas, and a handout on the Therapeutic Power of Play.

This is one of the DIY training Series offered to BUILD YOUR PLAYROOM!

Participants will learn about the use of sand tray in practice settings.  Sand tray history, use, and research will be discussed.  Case examples will be shared, as well as sand tray prompts for use in the play room. Additionally, each participant will receive a starter kit to create and develop their own portable sand tray for their playrooms.

The Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) program is a school-based, group and individual intervention.

 This is an INVITATION only opportunity- so please do not share with others at this time.  There are only 15 seats available for the training.

 For accepted participants, the cost of the training is ($185.00 per participant). This cost includes your one day training and all the materials needed to implement the intervention in your schools. Participants will be responsible for their own lunch and snacks during the event, and a lunch break is embedded into the training time. This is typically a two day training, but to reduce cost to the community and schools, we are offering a one day training option. As part of the one day training agreement, Participants MUST complete the online CBITS training modules prior to the event . YOU MUST SHOW PROOF OF THE ONLINE CBITS MODULE COMPLETION AT REGISTRATION (you should have 2 certificates of completion to bring).  To access the online training module, go to https://cbitsprogram.org/. The online training and registration is free of charge. You simply register as a new user and utilize your email address and password you create.  You will then have access to the manual and the online materials and certificate of completion for proof.
